Wilting

I love flowers when they're like this- those few days when the brilliance of the flower in full bloom is still delightfully evident, but the process of wilting has begun.  When the edges of the flower begin to discolor, but the center is still radiant.  This decay of beauty is lovely to me.  It reminds me of the ephemeral quality of the flower, which for some reason, I find comforting.  I can't quite describe it, but I like it.  And, I hope that you do too.
