A Few More Texas Things

It's nearing the end of the semester, and I'm very busy with a lot of  work at the moment.  Applications are pouring in for next year, and I've been doing a lot of substitute teaching in addition to my my normal classes.  The show I'm helping with, "Violence in Action," goes up in just two weeks, and well, things are just a bit busy.  I love it this way- I like my job, and I prefer actually having a lot of things to do when I'm here.  Not that I'm posting on this at work, but, let's be honest.  I'm totally posting this from work right now.  We're having a blessed slow moment.

Anyway, I haven't had time or the inclination at home to upload more of my recent photographs.  After martial arts, I'm getting home and just crashing, or reading a book or playing a video game.  Something that requires absolutely no work.  Danny and I might have eaten takeout Chinese whilst watching "Tangled" on Netflix two nights ago.  The leftovers might have been my dinner last night.  I may have eaten them cold, just because. I haven't been putting in many blog hours at home simply because I feel the need for relaxation time.  This is a little silly since I just had a break for Thanksgiving, I realize this. Thanksgiving was fun, but not relaxing.  I stayed up late, and then woke up at 8 every day.  All day I was spending time with family, including young cousins, and as wonderful as that can be, it is also guaranteed to be exhausting.  Not to mention travel time- it took us a good 4 hours to get to Pennsylvania, we traveled 2 hours south to Maryland and came back on the same day, and then my trip back home took me nearly 5 hours because of mass transit disruptions.  Traveling exhausts me, despite the fact that for most of it, I was sitting.

So, I thought I'd just share a few more photographs from my trip to Texas this past summer.  These ones don't have people as much as the ones in the previous post did, but they show a bit more of what we did.  God, I can't wait to go back for Christmas.  I need a break.  And it's warm there.  I'm pretty proud of a lot of these ones, there's color and I feel like I captured the essence of the locales nicely.  I'm not pleased with my photos as often as I'd like, so I'm going to take this feeling and run with it.  I'd love some feedback if anyone has any!

Warning- this is a very photo heavy post... so if it takes forever and a half to load, bear with me.  I'm a tiny blog and I appreciate you, I appreciate the time you are waiting to see my photos.  You rock.  And, you're awesome.  Thanks guys!

I noticed, while I was working on this post, that I have an overwhelming tendency to place the main subject of my photographs to the left.  I'm not sure why I do this, or what this says about me, but I'm going to try and balance it out a bit more.  Interesting.  You learn something new every day!

Thanks, once again, for checking out all of these photos.  All bazillion of them.  You are the best. If you have any comments, I'd love to hear them, and I'll try to get back to you.  Thank you.  Seriously, thank you.

Last Christmas

I was cleaning up my computer the other day, and found a whole mess of Photobooth photographs that Danny and I had taken last year at Christmas time!  These were in the basement of my parents' house, in Pennsylvania, where we spent Thanksgiving just a few days ago.  We both look so happy, and we still are, but it's always such a lovely surprise to find photographs you didn't know existed!

I'm entering into the holiday season with a chocolate advent calendar from my dad.  I'm super psyched about it.  Best of shopping, holidays, cold weather, family, and friends unto you all!
