The Tangled Web

Tomorrow is Halloween!  Which, just happens to be one of my most favourite holidays.  Really, I just like holidays in general.  They make me happy.  I like celebrating, eating fun food, and most of all, I like traditions.  Dressing up is a particular favourite.  Halloween costumes are just awesome.

In general, I'm not a huge fan of being scared, but I love spooky things.  I've always had a bit of a goth sensibility... for example, I think that this spider web is really pretty.  It's also creepy, but it's pretty.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

I love animals.  That sounds so obvious- most people like animals.  However, cute, cuddly, furry things make me especially happy.  Foxes, mice, puppies, kittens, wolves, pandas, raccoons... Raccoons are my absolute favourite.  I adore them.

Zoos are a delight.  I'd love to take more photographs of critters, but I don't have a whole lot of access.  I've never had a pet, not too many of my friends have pets, and zoos, though delightful, are kind of expensive.  And I'm an actor haha.  I don't have much money.

So I take inspiration from the work of others.  And someday, when I have the chance, I will take beautiful animal photographs of my own.

Into the Woods

Into the woods
And down the dell,
The path is straight,
I know it well.

Into the woods,
And who can tell
What's waiting on the journey?

Into the woods
To bring some bread
To Granny who
Is sick in bed.

 Never can tell
  What lies ahead.
  For all that I know,
  She's already dead.

But into the woods,
into the woods,
Into the woods
to Grandmother's house

And home before dark!

Lyrics from the musical Into the Woods.

My Little Pony

My Little Pony was one of my absolute favourite TV shows as a kid.  I watched it whenever possible.  I was one of those children who would wake up at like 6AM, hours before I actually had to be up for school, just so that I could watch some of my morning cartoons.  Scooby Doo, Princess Guinevere and the Jewel Riders, The Smurfs, and a few other classics aired really early in the morning like that.  One of those other classics was My Little Pony.

I also had a bunch of the toys.  I wasn't a spoiled rotten kid- it was just one of my preferred types of play. Pony parades occurred every few days.  I'd make my parents and friends sit and watched as I moved them around a room, one by one, while singing little songs.  It was silly, but I loved it.  And I wonder how on earth I turned out to be an actress......

This i one of those little toys from my childhood, posing in my parents' gardens in early September.

Konnichiwa

My dad bought me this little wooden doll in Japan many years ago, when he was in Osaka on a business trip.  It's one of my favourite trinkets- Danny and I are planning to decorate our living room with a Japanese theme, and I want it to be on some kind of side table, or something.  Anyways, these are of the doll in different places on their porch and in their garden, on a sunny afternoon.  Konnichiwa means good afternoon in Japanese.  I thought that it fit.
