Lausanne

While my dad and  were in Switzerland, we visited a few places other than Geneva. 

The other real city we saw was Lausanne- and it was gorgeous!  Unfortunately, the weather was not particularly pleasant, but we still had an excellent time.  Lausanne is built on a hill- a very, very steep hill.  We took the train up the hill to the church at the top, and it was exquisite.  My dad's friend Erik lives in a little village nearby. (More on that tomorrow!) He drove us to Lausanne.  Erik had gone to university in Lausanne, and knew it very well.  He was an excellent tour guide for us. Because it was a sunday, just about everything was closed.  With the terrible weather and nothing open, we encountered very few other people on our walk around town.  The mountain ranges across Lake Geneva took my breath away, and the lake itself was full of swans and ducks.

 Pendant que mon papa et j'étais à Suisse, nous n'avons pas visité juste Genève. 

Nous avons visité aussi Lausanne- et c'était magnifique ! Malheureusement, le temps n'était pas notamment agréable, mais nous avons eu un temps excellent.  Lausanne est construit sur une colline- une colline très, très escarpée. Nous avons pris le train sur la colline à l'église sur le haut, et c'était exquis.   Un ami de mon papa, Erik, habite en un petit village tout près de Lausanne. (Plus sur qui demain) ! Il nous a conduits à la cite.  Erik était allé à l'université dans Lausanne, et l'a su très bien. Il était un guide excellent pour nous.  Parce que c'était un dimanche, à peu près tout a été fermé. Avec le temps terrible et rien n'ouvre, nous avons rencontré très peu des autres gens sur notre promenade autour de la ville.   Les montagnes étaient incroyablement belles. La vue sur le Lac Geneve a fait me défaillir. J'ai aimé voir les cygnes et les canards qui nagent dans le lac.
