Inspiration Fridays Part Deux: Favourite Awkward Animals

I'm inspired by even more things, so I decided to post two Inspiration Fridays posts this week.

This post is about some of my favourite animals.  Why are they my favourites?  Because they make no sense.  These animals don't seem like they could possibly be real but, they most certainly are.  This makes them extraordinarily loveable.  It's almost as if they are fantasy creatures, but they aren't.

Yes, I'm perfectly aware that it's Saturday, but, this deer has fangs.

That, my friends, is a Chinese Water Deer.  They really do have fangs (tusks).

This is a Highland Cow.

This is an Angora Rabbit.

This is a Star-Nosed Mole.  Maybe the scariest of this bunch.

This is a Sun Bear.

This is a Kiwi.

These are two Bush Babies.

These are two Emperor Tamarins.

These are Narwhals.

This is a Coatimundi.

This is a most-adorable Red Panda.

When you are having a bad day, just remember- You might not be as cute as these animals, but you also are not as awkward.

Happy Saturday!

Inspiration Fridays: Look at Me

We share so much information through our eyes.  It's amazing.  I've heard it said that the eyes are the window to the soul, and I completely agree.  When you look into someone's eyes, I mean really look into them, if they are allowing themself to be at all vulnerable, you will see what they are thinking.  As an actor, and a teacher at an acting school, I'm reminded of this over, and over again.  It's fundamental.

Which is why these photographs astound me. These aren't humans, but in an instant, it's so easy to see the incredible depth in these animals. Feel their souls resonating with yours.

It's beautiful.

I love animals.  That sounds so obvious- most people like animals.  However, cute, cuddly, furry things make me especially happy.  Foxes, mice, puppies, kittens, wolves, pandas, raccoons... Raccoons are my absolute favourite.  I adore them.

Zoos are a delight.  I'd love to take more photographs of critters, but I don't have a whole lot of access.  I've never had a pet, not too many of my friends have pets, and zoos, though delightful, are kind of expensive.  And I'm an actor haha.  I don't have much money.

So I take inspiration from the work of others.  And someday, when I have the chance, I will take beautiful animal photographs of my own.

Otter Frolic

Remember how I said that I was utterly fascinted by the sea lions at Sea World?  And how I thought that I would be fascinated  by the otters, not the sea lions?  Well, let me clarify that this does not mean that I wasn't fascinated by the otters.  They were delightfully charming!  So little, cute and furry.  We were watching one play in the pool of water, and I took this photograph without realizing that the other one was even there- it was just a quick shot with the camera reflecting so much sunlight that I couldn't see the screen, and was too lazy to actually use the viewfinder.  Unfortunately, we didn't get to stare at them, and watch them frolic too long, because their habitat was being cleaned, and they were moved.  But, they were fun while it lasted!
