What's Your Spirit Animal?

I think I'm an ocelot.

Absolutely adorable- and surprisingly deadly.

Danny is probably a husky.

And, I think my sister, Julianna, is a jackalope.

If you couldn't tell- I am out of photographs today.  This has never happened to me before.  I have no more.  Work, martial arts, yoga, and you know, life in general, have been so busy that I haven't been out-a-shooting lately.  Today, I should be able to get some new pictures, so that tomorrow's blog post isn't about spirit animals.

In other news though, what is your spirit animal?  What animal do you resonate with the most?  Share in the comments!

And, have a happy Saturday.

Inspiration Fridays: Look at Me

We share so much information through our eyes.  It's amazing.  I've heard it said that the eyes are the window to the soul, and I completely agree.  When you look into someone's eyes, I mean really look into them, if they are allowing themself to be at all vulnerable, you will see what they are thinking.  As an actor, and a teacher at an acting school, I'm reminded of this over, and over again.  It's fundamental.

Which is why these photographs astound me. These aren't humans, but in an instant, it's so easy to see the incredible depth in these animals. Feel their souls resonating with yours.

It's beautiful.

Inspiration Fridays: A Book, a Hot Drink, a Treat, and a Snuggle

As the weather gets colder, I like to wrap myself in warmth, eat delicious food, enjoy quality entertainment, and snuggle with my darling.  I feel as if this is fairly common practice.  During the winter, we enjoy hot beverages, the comfort of cozy scarves and sweaters, and the simple pleasure of long, dark nights with a lamp and a book or movie.  Though Thanksgiving hasn't yet arrived, I've already taken to burrowing into my couch with novels, wearing comfy knee socks and drinking hot chocolate whilst playing video games, and piling blankets on top of myself and Danny as we catch up on some of our favourite TV shows.  It's easier to wear dark or warm colors in the cold weather, to surround yourself with everything that makes you feel warm and safe, in contrast to the harsh winds and temperatures outdoors.

Today's post is devoted to the urges we get to hole up in a cocoon, eat breads and pastries, drink coffee, tea and cocoa, and grab a book and a snuggle buddy.  Because that is what inspires me today.  I'm doing my best to beat it by working out and attempting to dress well, but honestly, all I want is a pain au chocolat, my space heater, my boyfriend, a sweater, a latte, and a good 500 pages of fantasy to accompany my winter hibernation.
