That's How We Keep it Popping

I found an app on my iPhone called Toon Paint, and I went a little bit crazy.  Danny and I like to think that we're total badasses, and though we are simply on our way to ultimate awesomeness, these photos made us feel like we are there.  I had a lot of fun making these cartoon/ pop art style images, and I hope you have fun looking at them too!

It's Madeline, It's Madeline

Madeline was one of my all-time favourite cartoon characters as a kid.  She was adorable, French, stylish, and loved helping people.  Mostly, though, she was French.  And I thought that was unbelievably cool.  Come to think of it, I still do.
So, when Julianna told me that she was dressing up as Madeline for Halloween... I made her pose for me.  Honestly, she enjoyed it, I didn't really make her.  She did an amazing job!  Enjoy :)
WHY IS SHE SO PRETTY?
And... it's Genevieve!

"In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines
lived twelve little girls in two straight lines.
In two straight lines they broke their bread
and brushed their teeth and went to bed.
They smiled at the good
and frowned at the bad
and sometimes they were very sad.
They left the house at half past nine
in two straight lines in rain or shine
— the smallest one was Madeline."

Armadillo Ambush

I have never actually seen an armadillo.  I've laughed about armadillos before- at pictures, at stuffed animals, at cartoons.  But I have not actually experienced one.  I feel like it's going to be very similar to when I saw my first possum.  It ran in front of the family car when we were stopped at an intersection.  For a couple minutes, I was completely convinced that the ROUSes from The Princess Bride were out to get me.  Yeek.  Possums are ugly mothas.  I have a feeling that armadillos are too, which kills my cartoon cuteness that lives in my brain, associated with armadillos.

Something like this:
See?  Look how cute that is!  Precious, right?  Like the ones on the statue above.  They are so adorable... little furry, shelled mammals coming out of the outer wall of an Austin restaurant just like the unicorns came out of the ocean in The Last Unicorn.  Like this:

Alas.  I have a feeling that they will gross me out.

Burger Queen

This just made me giggle, it was so cute.  This statue is on top of a restaurant in Coney Island, and from the Boardwalk, you can see the magnificent Wonder Wheel behind it.  Together with the American flag and the mug of Brooklyn Lager... it just looks so patriotic.  To add to that, this photograph was taken on the Fourth of July! ( That's the USA's Independance Day.)  I'm a vegetarian, but this cutie might convince me to have a burger.  So fun.
