Magnolia

Magnolia blossoms may be some of the most gorgeous things in the natural world.  Really.  They small super effervescent and gorgeous, and they look like puppies should be dancing on them while birds sing Disney songs and rainbows fill the sky.
The magnolias in New York were beautiful this year, and they all bloomed very early, which made me aware of how many of them there actually are.  Prospect Park and the much smaller Union Square are full of these happiness trees, and my area has them lining many streets.
Even the fallen blossoms on the sidewalk look nice.  You're walking on cotton candy, supported by fluffy, happy dreams.  At least, it feels like it.
These photographs aren't fabulous quality, but I was so taken with the blossoms on an evening walk through the park that I felt I had to attempt to capture them.  Sadly, my camera wasn't on me, so, phone pictures.

Nature's Blanket

Yesterday, I wrote about how Christmas, and holiday cheer seem to be overtaking fall.  They really do, especially in this city.  I don't have a huge problem with it, but I just love fall.  It may be my favourite season.

The best part is the leaves.  The browns, the reds, the yellows and the oranges that decorate the ground fill me with so much joy.  There is something so comforting and lovely about those tones, and the way that they create a natural blanket over the earth.  Part of me wants to put dried flowers in my hair and go running through a forest, celebrating.  I'm not actually going to do that, so here are some distinctly fall-themed photographs that I took during that same jaunt through Bryant Park on Thursday.

We'll start out with the requisite shot of my own feet.

As the Seasons Change

Here's my personal modeling contribution to the photographs taken in that little clearing in Austin that cloudy August day.

My feet.

I don't normally take pictures of my feet... that's a total lie.  I take photographs of my own feet all of the time.  I take pictures of myself in mirrors by holding out the camera too.  But, usually, these pictures suck and are nowhere near being considered to be put on this blog.  Yeah.  Bad.  And oddly egotistical.

Yet, here I go posting some pics of my own feet.
It's because it's themed, kiddos...
(And by that I mean I felt like posting some self-portraits)

Fall

The second photograph was taken at Barton Springs.  More on that to come :)
