Watch Out for those Gators!

Especially neon pink ones.  They tend to be particularly terrifying.
Mostly because they are unexpected.

Think about it.  Are you expecting to encounter a neon pink alligator?

...Didn't think so.

Trying Not to Get the Munchies

So, if you've been reading my posts lately, you'll know that I am embarking on a lifestyle change (diet).  This lifestyle change (diet) has been going pretty well thus far.  I haven't been exercising enough, true, but I've been eating well (dieting).
I've been eating lots of yummy vegetables, beans, eggs, fruits and such (diet foods).  I haven't even been eating lean meat, I've been getting my proteins from other sources (diet foods).
Honestly, I haven't even really been craving dessert foods (lies).  Okay, it's a lie.  When I don't see them, I'm not too excited about them, and I don't crave them.  But, when I see them, I really want them.

Like this:

om nom nom nom...

No!  I must eat vegetables!  (With the occassional little indulgence on the side...)

You can follow my lifestyle change (diet) progess here:

In other news, here's a nice photo of Danny I took while in that glorious pastry shop in Little Havana (where I indulged in a glorious guava turnover).

Nicaraguan Munchies

Danny and I stumbled across this delicious Nicaraguan restaurant in Little Havana.
I definitely found myself wising that I spoke Spanish on this trip- I felt very ethnocentric, like I hadn't cared to learn the second most spoken language in my own country.
Well... I haven't.  This has definitely motivated me to become at least conversational, though.  A ton of my friends even speak Spanish!  And basically all I know how to say is no comprendo Espanol.
Anyways, this restaurant was delicious.  We went for breakfast, well, brunch really, it was decidedly past ten on a weekday when we rolled on in.  For a total of four dollars a person, we got a pile of eggs with chorizo, rice and beans, plantains, and a latte.
I like good deals, but this was just pretty ridiculous.  Not that i'm complaining- as a matter of fact, I'm praising this place in all of it's kitschy glory.  It was tasty and idiotically inexpensive.  Win.
As a matter of fact, food was cheap in Miami in general, especially in Little Havana.  It was enchanting.
I liked the place already, what with its sun, beaches, sun, culture, sun, islands, and warmth
Seriously, when we got there, it was about 75 degrees Farenheit, and people were complaining about it being cold.
Um... I could live with that.  I'd love to get to complain about that.  But, yes,  I loved Miami!!  It was fun, and had tasty cheap food.
